Come Spend a Day With me...

Hi friend,
Daily life here at the cottage is made up of small little moments.
For me, each day begins with a cup of espresso in hand, lingering in bed with Stuart as long as the schedule will allow. We wake with the sun, (earlier this time of year!) and this time with our first cup of coffee is “our” time to catch up on heart-issues and schedules in the balm of the early morning light and sounds. I treasure these slow starts.
But the day never stands still — there is much to be done.
After already enjoying two delicious espressos this morning (the first in bed and second during my Italian lesson) I figured it’s time to switch to tea (roasted dandelion root is a new daily favorite of mine). I enjoy the fact that this ‘weed’ can serve our home in many ways… I blend it’s bitter leaves into filling for my ravioli, pickle it’s teeny flower buds into our homegrown version of caper berries, and can even enjoy it’s roots brewed into a tea.
These are the small little moments that comprise daily life here at the cottage. While each day starts the same, the rest remains dependent on the season, emotions, crop, bloom, and weather at hand. There’s always a bit of work at hand, hopefully woven in with some play, and always something particular about that specific day to enjoy.
So fill your teacup, snuggle in, and come alongside me for a day at our little cottage.
We’ve just wrapped up our school year, which means that our daily life has now taken another turn for the season ahead. Daily life repeats itself over and over… until somehow, before our eyes, it changes. I anticipate many meals outdoors, fresh peaches, stacks of novels, and plenty of dips in the river in the near future…
And you?
